I haven't noticed any posts regarding the back end of the V-Rod. To my eye the fender is way too high off the rear wheel. I suppose it's different when your on it but when you look at the bike just sitting there it just doesn't look sleek. I am think of putting Progressive 440 shocks on it too lower it a bit. Any suggestions?

Well Mine were originally set to 2 when I picked it up, it was ok for just me (im 220) but when i had my girlfriend on back (shes about 130) goin up my driveway it would bottom out at the edge where it meets the street. When i moved it to 3 it looked as though it sits a tad higher but i didnt measure it or anything and no we dont bottom out at all. I have heard the progressive kits will lower you about 1 in.

Hi and Lo Rods

Here are two pics (one on this post and one on the next) showing the difference between the stock shocks and the Progressive 440's.
You kind of have to flick backward and forward between the two to really appreciate the difference. BTW this first bike is on the Fort Lauderdale Harley site - it's got 500 miles on it (I think) and has every piece of chrome imaginable on it. It was custom painted by a guy that does work for them and is for sale although they couldn't give an actual price - somewhere around $30,000 - $31,000. The bike looks awsome.

I lowerd my v-rod 2 inches in the back to go along with my bike 240 rear wheel set up.It is much better looking and handles like a dream!I tookmy girl on the back ,she wieght "she's gonna hate me" 120 and it was no problem at all! There are pics in another thread if you would like to check them out.I ran a custom Fox shock that was 1.5 inches shorter and it really took the "Stink Bug" look away!

My dealer installed on a "demo" V-Rod a set of H/D Dyna Profile rear shocks (about $400.00). The bike is gone but he said it lowered the rear by about an inch. Nicely chromed and ntirogen charged. (God I some like a saleman!)
