Anyone try the touring windshield?

ive had mine on since march and love it.i wear a half lid and the wind and bugs are no problem.dont put anything in your shirt pocket cause the wind kinda blows up your chest and it will pull anything in the pocket out.its a lot better than the sport because the wind and bugs hit about shoulder high on a 5 foot 10 inch person on the sport.dont worry about moving the turn singles cause they dont get in the way.

The V-Rod is designed to have a dragster look. Indeed, Willie G. said so. Moreover, the 38 degree rake is in the chopper mode. Who has ever seen a chopper or a dragster with a windshield? Windshields are for wimps. If you want a windshield, buy a Volkswagen!

If you follow closely what he says, it does have the dragster look which compliments it's greater speed, but it's still a cruiser, a power cruiser. Built to cruise, yet have power and speed galore. If you pay attention at all to the road, you will see many riders with windshields. In fact, I talked with a guy that had a brand new Iron Horse that tried to bolt on plexiglass to it. Now that is a little much. I've always had felt that if you want to live free you should also let other's live free the way they want to without ridicule or even comment. I appreciate that you have an opinion, so I hope you appreciate that I think you are wrong.

The touring wind shield is great. I'm 6'3" an the ws gives me good protection. Need a full face helmet for the rain but you don't look throught the ws.
As for the wimp thing! Call me a wimp, the WS is great to have on the open road. I rode mine all the way to Sturgis and back, headmaster would trail his. One other thing, I never saw a drag bike with controls set forward like the V-Rod. Dragster look with a cruiser seating position.

i believe the last time i looked the top fuel dragsters had windshields on them.but really,to each his own .if you want a windshield,get one. if you dont,thats fine too.besides, i wouldnt have a volkswagon if you gave it to me.but there again,to each his own.
When I was young and foolish (now I'm not so young and not so foolish) I used to say windshields were for sucks, but after a few rides in the rain alongside my buddy with a windshield smoking a cigar and looking rather comfortable, I had to think whats better "Cool" or "Cool comfort".

On the plus side, the touring windshield easily detaches for cruising around town and simply clips back on for the neccessary wind break for highway cruising.
On the down side the double curvature of the touring screen has a little too much distortion at the top of the screen. (the transition zone between looking over or thru the shield is distracting)
Depending on your height this is or isn't an issue. I am 5'11" with long legs and a short torso so the distortion is a little more bothersome. If your head sits a little higher over the screen its not so bad.

They're running along about 60 mile an hour with their cheeks smeared back to their ears, their shirt tail halfway up their back and the wind buffeting them so hard they look like they're about to do the Fawsbury flop off their bike. Man they sure do look cool though, dont they ? The only problem you really have is getting with Abate down there and getting rid of all the a--hole laws so I dont have to toss on a brainbucket every time I cross over the line down there.

You mentioned that you don't have to move the turn signals when installing the touring shield. What did you do about the lower attachment fitting. It's like a 5 inch long bar threaded on both ends. The turn signals attach to the outer ends. If you don't relocate the indicators what did you do about this bar sticking out?

first off,let me say i dont ride at night unless i have to,i leave that to the bugs and night critters.so i just went to the shop and turned the lights on in the dark and yes you do see a small amount of reflection in the windshield.so i rode it up the road and it didnt seem to make a distration to me.i would put the windshield on,go down the road at night and just see for yourself what it does.as for the bottom fitting i got a chrome acorn stud and flat washer and works fine.you could also get 2 more of the top piecies to do the same but the acorn nut looks better. the main reason i didnt move the lights was the looks and how much trouble it was to do it.for me it just didnt seem to be something i needed to do.
