Here is a photo of my uncle sitting on my other uncle's motorcycle. My dad, who gave me this picture, thought it was a Harley since his brother has owned Harley's in the past. It sure looks like the bike in this picture though is an Indian due to what appears to be an Indian head on the front fender and the design of the motor.
Does anyone recognize what year and model Indian this motorcycle is?

Fenders are wrong, it looks like a pan head engine, I think it is a Harley with the Indian fender lamp.

Late 1940's....1948-49 FL, in 1950 they went away from the springer to a standard telescopic fork.

Thanks for the replies. I believe I was told it was a 48 Harley but the front fender emblem was throwing me off.

My uncle who owned the bike passed away last year so I was unable to ask him what it was.

I'm learning more and more about older Harley's and Indians every day but still have a lot more to learn.
