Never seen it ever needed for slip ons or any exhaust pipe connections for that matter.............but if it is peace of mindyour after the do it. Using it on the threads at the head is ok though. L LAF · Nice to ride again :-) Joined Aug 8, 2004 · 1,802 Posts #3 • Nov 2, 2005 I always coat mine at the joint and believe me I have had them on and off plenty. It does help you adjust and level them to one another a lot easier then metal to metal. Wont hurt anything at all.
