Hi to everyone. I am new to the HD Forum and have been doing a lot of looking and no posting so far. I purchased a new 2002 Ultra Classic in April and have fallen head over heals for HD motorcycles and the HD way of life. My name is Tommie and I live in Sweetwater Texas. Home of the worlds largest rattlesnake roundup. My wife and I have really enjoyed riding the new Harley and have already put 5,000 miles on it. I have been away from the motorcycle life for about 20 years, and can't believe I waited this long to buy another bike.
This is a great Forum and I am really glad that I found a place to come visit with other HD owners. I will be posting on some of the forums in the near future.

Welcome and glad you decided to join in. Looks like a nice ridin' bike you have there -- real smooth isn't it?
What made you decide to take up bikes again after being away for so long?
Look forward to reading your posts.

The wife and I have always dreamed about having a nice bike we could take trips on together. We finally got both daughters out of the house and on their own and decided it was time for our dream to come true. I have owned a few dirt bikes and a couple of smaller street bikes and a four wheeler, but always wanted a nice road bike. We always had our minds made up that our dream bike would be a Goldwing. Well........we just couldn't stay away from the Harley when we started shopping. We are both glad we went with the Harley. I took the Motorcycle Safety Training course and enjoyed it a lot. I know now that it was the best thing I could have done before getting back on the road again.
Thanks for the warm welcome. I am looking forward to making a lot of new friends here.

Tommie, I'm a construction worker and peck away at the keyboard with one finger, so bear with me, I just read your post and i'm very impressed, i'm so glad you and you wife can finally live "the American Dream", on a fine bit of american iron, hey, we all waited a lifetime to get to this stage, well, where there, rubber side down, sunny side uo, and enjoy every damm moment you spend on that fine hog. I'm a newbie to the board but i'v had some great repleys from some obvious great people, that warms my heart and restores my faith in mankind, although I always look for the best in people, you and your wife just wring the neck out of life and enjoy to the max.
Aloha.
