I know this topic has been beat to death, but I have another question on fitting a 150 series tire. i put my detachable bags on my '01 Fat So this weekend and was thinking it would be immpossible to get a wrench on the inner fender with a wider tire.
has anybody put bags on a wide tire bike?
soory for the type o's but my knuckles are still bleeding.

The 150 tire on my softail custom allows about 3/16th of an inch maybe between the sidewall and the fender, but that's probably because I have my bike lowered. I have had to work on stuff in and aroung the inner fender and I gain a little access by jacking up the bike and allowing the rear tire/swingarm to lower out of the way. It is still a tight fit but if your bike is at stock height this should allow you some additional working room. Just make sure that any bolts you use to mount your bags are as flush to the inner fender as you can get them.
