Dad's Advice to Chris When He Got His Pilot's License

1. There is safety in altitude.

2. Turn it around, put it on the ground.

3. There are old pilots, there are bold pilots. There are no old, bold

4. Triple check your altimeter before you leave the airport.

5. If you push the envelope, it will tear.

6. Plan every flight, and file a flight plan.

7. Never fly past the last 20% of your skill level.

8. In route, thinking 10 minutes ahead is good, 20 minutes is better.

9. Ten feet short of any runway might just as well be ten miles.

10. There is no such thing as "marginal" VFR.
