Has anyone found a good way to remove the anodized coating. I am trying to polish the top of the fenders and airbox cover without removing the coating from the bottom of the fenders as a dip tank would do.

We used to use Easy Off over Cleaner on our BMX Bikes.It took it off pretty good!

Thanks for your response, I am aware that oven cleaner has sodium hydroxide in it but was afraid it might etch the metal and give me an uneven shine when finished. I did however find a product that was recommended by the author of a book about polishing Harley Davidson bikes after I e-mailed him with this same question.
