Amsoil MCV 20/50 Oil Questions ??

28754 Views 171 Replies 37 Participants Last post by  BORIS883
Hey guys...

I'm an Amsoil guy & getting ready to do an oil change. Amsoil has a product i've never seen before, Amsoil 20/50 Oil, Primary & Tranny Fluid. Has anybody used this in there primary & tranny. Please let me know, as i'm a little skeptical, but, Amsoil has never done me wrong. It's a little price ( $8.80/quart ) but if it covers all three areas, it will save me in the long run.

Thanx guys...

How about $10.55 a quart, before shipping. Domt know where you got that number from but that would be awesome.
I like $10.55 better. Amsoil has 3 different performance levels of their automotive oils all based on mileage recommendations. I threw out the price of our synthetic for normal OEM recommendations to see how you responded. I know that you would not want that one based on your post, but even with shipping factored in it would be cheaper than what you are quoting. Forum members here have received the lowest prices possible from me for the last 12 years that I have been a paid forum sponsor.

Boris, the installer button right next to the dealer locator gives you a list of all the shops in your area that services caged vehicles as well as motorcycles. for the shops within 15 miles of your zip code are Meridian motorcycles 910-867-7465, Ray Price Triumph 910-920-1510, Gins speed shop 910-920-2077, Rocket auto parts 910,425-2154. There is several other shops within 30 miles of you. I was surprised to find so many shops in your area since you said that there was nothing in your area, as we do have some areas of the country that we don't have that much dealer activity. Hope this helps you find what you are looking for.

I go by Gins once a month, its on the way to my doctor but I go early and they are never open. Its too much out of my way. Ray Price Triumph/Ducatti is the shop I get my oil filters at. The only oil I have seen in stock there is castrol. Next time I am in I will ask if they can order me some. I guess it just sells out quick. The guys in that shop are top notch too, great bunch, awesome customer service. Also get the mil/leo discount so bonus. If I go to 10-15K with it what filter would you say is best to change half way trough? Normal filter or you got something better?

I do thankyou very much sir.

Here is a link on Amsoil's oil filters. With the mileage interval you are talking about they match up real well so you don't have to change the filter midway through your service.

This shop must sell Amsoil fairly well as to be listed on Amsoil's installer locator they have to purchase at least $500.00 worth of product.

Them filters are awesome. Everyone that uses them love em. Best you can get IMO, I gather you would agree. I run Hiflofiltro made for my bike right now and they are pretty much almost as good. At $2.00 less than the harley stock and 103 square inches more of synthetic filter media than the stock paper filter and the miles I use it, about half what the amsoil one can do I am good with it.

I like the fact i will be able to do a once a year oil and filter change on the wifes car with that combo too. I am sure I will have great performance and no worries once I make the switch in the wifes car. I bet she will still yell at me every 5K though to go change the oil lol. I will just make it look like Im doing it, she wont know the difference.

Thankyou for the help sir!

Please.............enjoy it while it lasts...............let the sleepy troll sleep....::wavey:
I've been running the 20W50 in both the '11 Road Glide, (24.5K miles), and in the '13 Road King, (8K miles), with great success. Joined the "oil change" online program at Amsoil because they do warranty their product will work in the given application and what better proof to them if you follow their recommended oil changes

All I enjoy is riding. You internet cowboys are all the same. You rack up your post counts and get all butt hurt when what you call a "noob" with no or low posts comes along that does not use the same chrome polish as you.

Son, you just gotta deal with it when someone uses something you dont, or dont park the bike in the winter and rides everyday, rain or not.

You must be one of them kids that just posts and never reads. I answered all of his questions within the following posts. Slow down your reading to your riding style, spend as much time reading as you do polishing your chrome and you should easily see the answers.

Let me guess, you been riding since 1954, hear it all the time. Give it up. I probably rode more in the last three years than you did your first three decades being king of the road.

I should become a monkey butt vendor here, would make a bunch of money on people like you when I make claims of being able to post twice as long after applying battling the trolls. Yer killing me with humor kid.
