Being a lady rider.. and my new bike arriving at the end of this week, I need to decide if I'm going to have the stealer put on the engine guards, or if this is something I can do myself, Has anyone ever put engine guards on? any input would be great! Thanks

Hi Rusty Knight....That works only some of the time.... I have used that technique, in the past when I 've been pulled over for speeding... Must work cause I've never gotten a ticket!! ( Oh I can hear all you guys now... What other technique has she used, to get out of a ticket)!

I installed one on my wifes 883 Shortster and it only took me about 15 minutes. The instructions that came with the guard was very simple with illustrations. The engine guards for softails should be simpler to install than the Sportster. The Sportster has to connect to the top engine mount whereas the squishtails have a hole in the frame that connects the top of the guard.

Hope this helps,
