He can't ride it anymore since his stroke 11 years ago, but he still wheels his chair out there and dusts it off and pets it and loves on it. He still buys batteries for it every couple of years, and has me do maintainance on it as if it was in regular service, gets it licensed every year, and keeps it insured, even though it only gets started a couple of times a year. It's a connection to what Dad used to be, and still is deep inside.
