I have a 98 Heritage and after an inner primary seal went to pouring I removed all necessary components and replaced it. Now that everything is back together; when the engine reaches compression while trying to start the starter binds up. I have taken it all the way back down twice and back together with the same results. Took the starter; jack shaft; and battery off my 99' softtail and installed it and that starter also binds. You can remove the plugs and all is well. Does anyone have any ideas......I think that maybe the tranny and engine aren't lined up like they should be and the realignmnent procedure should be done.....just want a few opinions before I tear it down again.
