looking good man. What's the rest of the build? Sunday should be o.k. to get a couple miles under your belt.....good luck and nice work..
Nice Pics GG look forward to more.
Could you explain the heat cycle procedure you used.
Thanks.
Hey, thanks guys! Tx, the rest of the build is: S&S 510G cams, Competition Cams lifters, Forged Pistons, V&H proPipeHS, Stock heads worked by GMR (HdWrench) SE Adjustable Map Ignition, DynoJet carb kit (with tips from GMR)

LB, the heat cycle, (which is a new procedure to me) is to start the fresh motor, run at idle to operating temps, shut down, let it cool to ambient temp, do it again for three times total. This apparently assists in the enging break in procedure. I just followed HDwrench's directions. He could explain the theory/reasons for this.
Heat cycling

Check with www.zippersperformance.com, they have a pretty elaborate version of it. I used it twice
Thanks GG and VH for the information.
Thanks...that's what my pics will look like in a few weeks...'cept no glasses and there'll be a beard...ENJOY

Maybe we all can hook up this spring for some riding. I"m hoping to do the build in about a month with the help of geezer.
The problem is we can't find anyone around here to do the dyno tune , the dealer is okay with the stock stuff but after that forget it.
I'm going with the HDWRENCH 98" build with the 37g cams and send my heads to him . The geez screwed me with this build , i thought my bike was okay till he blew by me. Now i got to find about 2500 to keep up with him or get my balls busted. I'm hoping to get my bike done before Chris so i can bust his balls for awhile unless he already snuck one in on us.

How much of a difference did the 3:37 gearing make?

i made a couple of trips up the parkway the power and accleration was just wonderful. i did not even notice the diffrence in rpm at highway speeds it jumps from 55 to 105 with no problem and cruises at 95 with ease im going t try to get out tomorrow if possible in the afternoon if your out let me know where you guys are going to be and ill let ya take her for a ride.
Where is colonia?? I think we might go to NY for the bike show.

The cooling fins on the cylinders look alot thicker than on a stock jug. How does this transition with the stock heads? They look pretty strong. What is your opinion on the quality of the 98 kit? Thanks...
I have the 98" kit. It looks really good with the stock heads. You have to be looking to notice that the fins are bigger. The quality is second to none. They are built like tanks compared to the stock cylinders. The thicker fins and nicsil coating are very reassuring when putting together a build that puts out allot more power than stock. To me it made me a little nervous to think of using the big bore kit from the moco. I mean they are nothing more than bored out versions of the stock cylinder. If I was going to put money on better all around reliability I'm going 98". Hey just my common sense opinion nothing more.....It's saved me many times!
I like to hear about the builds and the "perma-grin" Blew by you huh?? I really like the 98 kit. I have been rebuild some of my current customers 95 bikes when I do a 98 for there buddys and then they get smoked. Funny how that works. I loaned my 124 to a customer for a day while I did his build. He went for a ride up in the mountains, with his buddys. They where down shifting like mad to try to keep him in site. After the a short time I guess from what I was told he was LONG gone. He came back end of day with bunches of stories about 100 mph roll on's and not downshifting and making everyone jealous as they could not catch him. I think that a 124 is in his future.

When i was out with geeezer i was behind him at a red light when it turned green i jumped on it and passed him. Before i was out of third gear he came by me like i was standing still. I was surprised it was that much quicker. Plus i was on a softail deluxe and he was on a electra glide classic so i know his bike is heavier than mine.
The look of the 98 jugs is really nice, if you didn't know what to look for you probally wouldn't notice them.
Tire smokin pics, burn outs, wheelies, figure eights, hole shots pics com on guys I know that you need a new tire anyways %[email protected] HAVE room on my board of FAME for some great pics!!!
