Hi All,
I went to start my bike up this evening and it just wouldn't start. It just kept making a rapid clicking noise but nothing was happening. I'm assuming the battery is fine because the lights were coming on and didn't seem dim at all. I'm not a particularly experienced mechanic, but I'm learning. Does anyone have any ideas as to why this would be happening? I know it's a broad question. . . Just looking for some suggestions.

Thanks,
Chris

the same thing happened to my '98 XL1200 a week ago. It tried to leave me stranded, so I push started it and rode to the mechanic. The lights worked at first, but died soon. It turned out to be the voltage regulator. If you dont have the technology to troubleshoot and fix it yourself, charge the battery and take it to your mechanic
