I have a 96 flhtc with a breather kit and stock exhaust with the baffles drilled out. I want to put on a better sounding slip ons any suggestions? I also want more power, someone told me I should do some carb modifacations but didnt say what to do. Will changing the ignition module be of any help? Any suggestions?

Hey rayman, welcome to the forum.

I have a FLHT with V/H slashcuts and they sound okay to me. Not too loud, not too quiet. And they look good.

If you will use the search tool you'll most likely find a couple of hours worth of reading.

rayman,
I have a '98 FLHTC (carb). The engine mods I have done are:

Screamin' Eagle air cleaner/breather
Dynojet carb re-jet kit
Andrews EV13 camshaft
Screamin' Eagle 6000rpm ignition module/plugs/plug wires
White Brother's E-Series 2 into 1 exhaust

This is commonly referred to as a "Stage 2" setup. You can make about 75HP/80TQ with this setup. I think the specific bolt-in cam and exhaust I'm running combine to create a nice strong & wide power band - I highly recommend them for a mild but strong EVO motor. The pipe has an agressive sound on acceleration but is fairly tame when cruising. It probably will be louder than your stock mufflers.

Check ouy the following site for everything you ever wanted to know about hopping up and EVO motor:

If ya gotta have even more power, this is a kit that I wish I would have known about before I did my performance upgrades (nice!):

Have fun:D
