I have put about 600 mi. on the above build, love the performance, have taken it up to 110 or so, runs great. Some clatter it seems in front, hard to distinguish from the chuffing of the mikuni. But, it does seem to increase as the motor warms up. Like I said, runs great, was going to pull the rocker boxes and make sure no clearance problem, have adjusted the pushrods to 16 flats, supposed to be between 14 and 18. I have seen other threads with similar complaints, but no smoking gun. Any suggestions? thanks, I am really learning a lot, reading the threads every day.

If it were mine I would pull the heads and replace the springs with Crane 155#springs and Titanium retainers or PSI CT1225 a little inside scoop on the same spring used by Woods and others. The SE valve springs are overkill. The Baisley spring go ahead if you have to but I would not expect that to help the root cause too stiff of springs and chain slap.
