I've got a chance at a '92 springer with 38k miles in good shape,no leaks & running well for $5k.I'm not real familiar with evo's,is this a good deal,what should I loook at as far as common problems?any input is appreciated!

I agree, any big V-twin for less than $7K to me is a steal unless its been through hell!

sounds like a good deal to me too.
I June I bought a 1987 FLHTC with 40,000 miles.. Looked real nice
and drove 150 miles to look at it. bought it for $7700.
rode it 150 miles home okay.. needs a few things but still a good ride.

Got it! The only thing I'm not too sure of is it has 16"apes...thinkin' 'bout drag bars maybe...:huh:

I had a 1988 springer for 10 years with 12" bars on it. Really like that size. Depending on what risers are used, drag bars will sometimes put you in a "lean forward" position which I'm not fond of. Just some thoughts.

Drag bars get to be a drag - real fast! Save your back, keep the 16s.

Dauumm dude you stole the thing! Post some pics when you can! I would love to have a evo springer! I'm jealous!
