A friend of mine has a 2003 883r. The bike is 2 months old has 900 miles on it and he has oil in the air filter coming from the breather tubes. The local harley dealer, installed a "after-market" Re-modified rocker box on the bike. They performed the service under warranty and said this was the first time they have done this, and were using his bike as a test. Has anyone heard of this before and did it solve the oil problem

I have never heard this. I have a 2001 883 with 3000 miles and never had any problem with oil control. Does your friend have a free flow style filter? I know that does cause oil issues.

Sure they're different rocker boxes? Sounds like they might have drilled the drain holes from the rocker boxes a little larger. I saw it in a magazine some time ago as a fix but have no further experience with it.
