It started as a 900 then later increased to 1000 because that was basically it's limit without lots of machining, and costs. You could stroke it, I would guess S&S would still make you parts. The EVO model was made in 883 and then 1200, but they share NO parts with the ironhead. For what it would cost to try to increase the size of an ironhead you could build 2 evo's, and they would still be larger.
