Just finished doing a total powder coating on a customers bike and installed a new bottom end, rings, reground the valves and all new gaskets. got it all back together and it starts fine except a have a carb stumble at about 1/4 to 1/3 throttle. Once i get past the stumble it runs fine. It still has the stock Harley carb and I've cleaned it. The main jet is a 90 and I can't remember the pilot jet size, but didn't change it from the stock. I've tried everything I can thing of, including testing for air intake leaks.
Someone told me to chuck the Harley carb (keihin) and go to a S&S, but the customer already is in way over his head money wise with the complete powder coating; frame, gas tank, fender, oil tank, engine case, jugs and heads and then the bottom end had to be replaced after installing the engine.
I know the Cams where set up correctly, so that's not the problem.
Anyone have a cure????
thanks,
Ben
