Does anyone kno what size the rear axle nut is? Is it a metric size? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I don't know about a 1982, but a 1987 is 5/8"-18 TPI x 1 1/16" hex (grade 5)...according to the parts manual.

Yup, I'd agree with that ........... 5/8 UNF.

Thanks for al your help, its actauly a 15/16 I'm guessing. The 1 inch is just a hair to big.
