Here is is, the Dyna vs FXR showdown. Now is your chance to have a say in a decades old argument. Which do you prefer? Which is the better scooter? Which one do you choose as the winner of the 2017 V-Twin Forum Ride of the Month - Event #3?

FXR? Or Dyna?

Shovel? Or Twincam?

Don't hold back, this is your chance to let it all out. Step up and vent your opinion. Cast a vote, and we'll see how it turns out in a couple of weeks.

Well ...I'll throw my helmet in the ring.
Year:2005
Model:FXDLI
Eng size:88ci Twin Cam W/Big Sucker AC and Power Commander V
Transmission:5 sp
Pipes:Rinehart Slip-on's
Seat:Mustang Vintage Wide Solo w/ removable backrest
Bags: Boss Bags
HD Quick Release Windshield
Wheels:Stock
And the story goes something like this: Back in the summer of 2005, after not riding for about 30 years, I called my wife one afternoon from work. I asked her if she could get off from work early. She wanted to know what was going on. So I said, "Well, I was thinking about stopping by the Harley dealership." We had been talking about bikes and how both she and I used to ride many years ago. So she said, "Why do I have to leave work early? We can go by tomorrow( Saturday) to look at bikes." I answered, Well you had better be there at 4 o'clock." And then I just hung up the phone.
Well she was there by 4 o'clock and as the say the rest is history. I asked her which one she liked and she said " I love that Pearl White Sportster over there." I said," Ok, that is a nice looking one." We walked around a little and she asked me which one I liked. Blue being my favorite color I walked over to the Low Rider and said, "Well this one sure is nice." Then she said, "Wouldn't it be nice to have our own bikes and go riding on the weekends." I answered, " Yep, sure would." I motioned to one of the salesmen and said as I pulled out my check book, "We will take this blue one and the Sporty over there." For the first time my wife was speechless.
The next day we picked up both her Sporty XL1200 Custom and my Low Rider.

It's been a couple of years since I played ... I was going to wait until summer and get some new pics with a hottie on it. Might still do that and post them anyway.

1983 FXRT, not stock but built to ride while retaining a mostly stock appearance.

Year: 1983
Model: FXRT (first year and only year Shovelhead)
Eng size: 1340 (Bone stock)
Transmission: 5sp (Stock)
Pipes: Stock (hens tooth to find)
Seat: Stock HD from a 1994 FXLR (nicer than the original)
Wheels: Chrome 13 spoke late model HD (Matching rear in the works, hard to do with the stock enclosed chain drive!!)
Accessories: Daymaker head light, GPS, FXRP Foot boards, Tour pack (not on it currently), K&N Air Filter, Even though the AC is the stock "Ham Can", I would call it an accessory because so many were removed and trashed.

Bought it over 10 years ago and had plans to do some upgrades for reliability but its been too reliable the way it is so I never did them. One plan thought is to machine the matching chrome 13 spoke rear wheel to work with the stock enclosed chain drive. That should be done this year.

I don't know about a beer bribe. Seems like a mixed drink at Pawleys Island would be better.

Well Dyna did cut the grass before taking the picture. Just saying.

Real Bikers make their ole ladies cut the grass. So they can find that missing half inch wrench that they chucked out there last weekend.
I like this one about finding wrenches, but the easy way is to just spray paint all the tools yellow. I still have a hammer and a few tools that belonged to my brother that are yellow or orange.

Didn't know you two had a thing going on.
We both have something in common. He has lost his mind and I have a handle on where my mind was last.
