I have three Heritage Classics. My newest is a 2010 with 2600 miles on it. I was putting on new tags the other day and I noticed that my rear tire does not sit evenly between the edges of the rear fender. Barely one hand can go between tire and fender on right rear side. On the left side I can put almost two hands in there. It has probably always been that way but I just happened to notice that and it drives me nuts. Any ideas ?

They are all like that to some extent. Same thing on my Fatboy, except my tight side is on the LEFT, while I have twice as much clearance on the right. Noticed this awhile back, so I went to my local dealership & checked out other Softails. Some had more clearance on one side, some on the other side, and only a couple were actually perfectly centered. Remember, unlike a car, bikes are not perfectly symmetrical on both sides. Prolly has to do with belt width, as they did change this periodically, and also how the belt is adjusted. My Fatty is an '04, so it has a wider belt than your '010.

Sometimes little things I see on my bike drive me nuts, and I go to my dealer & check to see if other bikes like mine have the same issue. Lucky for me my dealer is only 8 blocks from my house!
