Was riding this week through havy rain. Today, I want to start it and the battery was empty. Loaded it. Coming back this afternoon. Took the charger off. test loght and horn. everything okay.

clutch in neutral
Engine run
wait that oil is ready
push start switch
incredible sound from starter. engine doesn't turn.
????!!!!

What can I do?

Put the bike in gear,rock it back & forth, then in neutral & try to start it. Maybe bad ring gear?

If the bike has started in the past, without issue and then riding in the rain cause the issue, First start with having the battery load checked, even though you had it on a charger it still could have a shorted cell causing a low power issue, which could cause the starter to not engauge fully, which would cause a grinding sound. You could have chip a tooth on the ring gear, to check this put the bike in gear and rock it forward enough to cause the motor to turn over enough to move the position of the ring gear. The go to neutral and try to start it. Let me know what happens after you have done these checks.
