We just got this bike, haven't got the manual yet.

I want to charge the battery. Assume I have to remove seat to access it. The rear of the seat is easy to figure out--remove screw from fender.

But what's going on at the front of the seat? What needs to come loose up there to get the seat off?

Sorry to be so dumb. Thanks for any advice...

The seat does NOT need to be removed on my '05. Just the left side cover. Removing the seat does not provide any more access to the battery.
Do yourself a favor and install a battery tender 'pigtail' so the side cover doesn't have to be taken off to charge the battery.
