I have a 2009 Harley Crossbones. The check engine light comes on during deceleration from about 45 mph to 30 mph then goes off. Speedometer backlight only is on when the check engine light is on. If I rev between gears on downshift the check engine lights up between 20 mph and 5 mph then goes off. Had Harley run the code it said speed sensor was causing the problem. I replaced the speed sensor and cleared the codes. It continues to act the same. Engine seems to run normally the whole time. Any ideas as to what could cause this problem?

Appreciate any help.
Thanks

You'll probably have to consult your Harley Electrical Diagnostics manual.

You cleared the codes? What codes did you find?

Just a heads up. Stator and voltage regulator needed to be replaced to fix the problem.

Thanks for letting us know.

Too many never follow up and share what they found.
