I have installed an aftermarket lowering kit for my rear shocks, this drops my back end about 2-1/2 inches, I had the lights adjusted for the rear drop. As you have experience the ladder bags do not fit because the shocks are out of the concave part of the bags and I had to add spacers as well as an additional lower tube for the bottom inserts. Everything looks good and it works fairly well I completed these changes last years.

The problem with the lowering kit is that it kicks the bottom of the stock shocks back and down which alters the suspension/support of the shocks.

Has any of you installed 10 inch rear shocks on the Road King or any other touring bikes that has provided a good suspension without feeling like you are ridding a solid board, id you have what shocks have you used?

I have been doing a lot of reading but nothing convincing yet.

Thank you for your time
