i just bought a 2007 De Luxe last month. it is a new big and the dealear rep told me that the new 96 ci motors pump out more heat. after 200 miles i have to agree. it does seem much hooter than any of my previos models. anyone else notice this?
also, what are your thoughts about adding an oil cooler?

an oil cooler is a good idea but it needs a cam and pipes and if you would like to good runer see the 07 96ci cam has no overlap and will drive the heat back in to the head (epa) so a good cam will help big time and a good pipe
if you would like to go to the next step is a 107 kit

This has been a topic of major discussion here on the forum for over a year. Do a search and you'll find plenty of info on steps you can take to reduce the heat. You can start here http://www.v-twinforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=108589
