Mid-October is the time of year when a lot of guys start putting away their bikes for the winter, and a certain percentage of them think its a good time to save on storage, insurance, etc. by putting them up for sale. At the same time, a lot fewer guys are out there looking for a bike to ride, since in most parts of the country the weather is getting colder and the days are a lot shorter.
Increased supply plus reduced demand leads to lower prices.
If you can wait until springtime to sell your sled, I'm pretty sure you'll get a lot more interest and probably will be able to command a better price.
