I'm looking to buy a 96 Heritage Softail. Anything that I should be on the look for? Any special problems with that year/model?

i dont know but i sure love my 95 i just picked up a month ago. it only had 4k miles on it. id like to hear responses too. i put vance and hines bigshot longs and a thunderslide kit k&n s+s type intake on it and it made a huge difference in power. id like to hear what people have to say. if you dont mind me askin, how much and how many miles?

Check the gasket seal at the base of the rear cylinder. Look for any seepage.

It's very possible it has been replaced already.

I had a 93 that leaked. It was a few months out of warranty and HD approved the fix at no charge to me.

Other than that, no problems outside normal wear and tear.

the 96 has 16.5k miles and I paid $ 12k. The color is the same as your 95. Really good looking bike

I have a 96 FAsTBOY. It has been a great motorcycle. No breakdowns in all these years. I went Stage IV a couple of years ago and it still runs like a raped-ape.

I think it is the best year EVO made. If you can pick up a low mile 96 for 12 jump on it!
