Working on my son's recently purchased 1988 XLH 1200, the front brake light switch was on all the time. Figured out that the metal tab on the master cylinder push rod was positioned above the switch instead of pushing it in. Pivited into position the brake light switch worked correctly for half a dozen times then the brake light stayed on again. Finaly tore the lever off the mount to look at the setup. Figured out the cheap after market skull brake lever the previous owner had put on had been worn enough in the slot where the plunger goes into the pivot that it would not hold the flats on the plunger in place.

Put the factory lever that came with the bike back on.

PROBLEM SOLVED!!!!!!!!!!!:woohoo:
