taking off a stop light, hit it hard as always and snapped the drive belt in two pieces!!!! Just 2k miles on it!!! Has that happened to any of you guys??? The bike is pretty spicy but not a dragster for God sake!!!!
Is there anything more heavy duty than the OEM belt?? I do not want to be stuck on the road again in onother couple of thousand miles!!!

im going chain soon, but if you must run belt, HD has a sidecar belt designed to take much more abuse. i abused the heck outa one on the sidecar bike ( sideways burnouts) and never had to adjust it. only had about 90/90 tq/hp, but you have to beat heck out of a sidecar bike constantly to get from point A to B.

It is my opinion that the service manual's recommended tension is too high. My belt tightens with heat to the point that it will howl. I run mine pretty loose (cold). I will continue to run it "loose" on the 117". To be clear, after the bike "warms up" the belt feels pretty snug. Hope I didn't confuse anybody.
