There was a recall on the lock back when the 06 line was first released. Check with your local dealer, the fix was FREE.

All the Electra Glide models have the same type of ignition/fork lock. On many units if you locked the ignition/fork lock the damn thing would not unlock. Mine was difficult to unlock but I was able to unlock it every time. I received a recall notice from Harley back then & the dealer reminded me when I brought the bike in for service. Lucky for me mine never caused me any real problems and the bike was due for service when I received the letter. The new lock functioned much better then the original concerning ease of use.
