Holy cow batman, I'm shaking in my new spaceboots.

100ft/lb at the crank from a 103 stroker, sort of sounds like one of my 88's :D, not to speak of the 95's

Even the much talked about new ECM at first glance seems to be not much more then a $500.00 PowerCommander with big titz and a logo.
Guess I'll have to get one and see what it does  Should be easy enough to sell on Ebay :D

new ecm?

Is it just me or are the two tone Glide's with gold wheels one FUGLY sumbit(h. :D

The rumor that they were pursuing alternate demographics seems to be true.

The one thing that seems to be of some use is the accessory electronic compass that goes in place of the ambient temp gauge.

They have seen the light in one respect, they now have ThreeBond in a genyuwine HD box for a mere 250% of retail. I predict a run on Yamabond. :D

Ayayayayay Maria, wee weeeeel habe to ride an obsolete mooodel, our status just bent to chyt :D

At least it's free :D

Beg to differ folks but...

Although most of the bikes weren't all that impressive, taken as whole, well pity the fool who spent his 18k on a 2002. Even worse how'd you feel if you were still making payments on the 95th year edition! To meT he two tone is the bomb, but the rest is a wash, although you really never know from the web site, you need to see it in person. No matter what you think about the stock stuff, take a minute a follow the links on the HD website to the Screaming Eagle Duece. If I weren't already waiting for delivery on my VRSC ,that would be the one I would be looking for. Damn I love that bike. Especially the front end... but all together, well read the specs!

My money is SOLIDLY on my '02, especially after looking at the '03 models.

Why are you waiting on delivery? Several dealers I visit here in Texas have them sitting on the floor, wishing someone would buy them.

They have several 03's?

I don't think they have ANY 03's yet, first deliveries aren't till July 31, 02. As for any 02's on the floor, not around here.

I'm sorry, I kinda like them... Of course, the hype was much bigger than they could live up to. Would I trade my 2001 for a 2003? Probably not. Would I pay outrageously gouged prices for an '03. No. But I like them. Hey, what are they trying to do anyway? Make them "Silent Grey Fella's"? LOL

15 Years

Dang, what a huge let down. I saved / waited for 15 years to get this bike, thinking that Harley would make the 100th edition real special. NOT!!! I'll cancel my order on my 2003. They've even jacked up the price on my 2003 bike by $500.00 -- for what? All I see is a bunch of crap I don't even want on my bike. I'm better off buying a used bike.

So you have been watching Harley for the past 15 years and waiting/saving? Didn't you ever notice how the price, as you put it jacked up every year? Sorry to tell ya but that was dumb if you waited 15 years and thought the prices were gonna go down. Better start checkin the cycle trader for that 15 year old deal.

The price increase is standard and to be honest I think it is cool that they did not take advantage to gouge folks who have been waiting 15 years.

Last time I checked, no one has a corner on their next breath. Other than the shop is closed, there is little excuse for waiting in the heart of a Independent Harley RIDER. ;)

Cox-
What has Harley done in the last 15 years that gave you the idea that they were going to take some quantum leap forward in 2003? Get over it, they are what they are. Don't want the extra cost, then get an '02...there are thousands on dealer floors at MSRP.

I am happy with my '02 and wouldn't pay $700 for badges and the new for '03 markup on that special new color Harley seems to think they invented (Black). The same reason I didn't buy a two-tone in '02.

Ok, so it has a 100th emblem on the seat, but it is still a crap seat that goes in the garbage because you can't sit on it for more than 100 miles.

100th engine covers? Like I need the exact same ones that 270,000 other bikes have.

If I was looking for a new one now, sure I'd get a 2003 and if I had wanted one two years ago I would have bought a 2001. If I am ready for a new one in 2008, it will be a 2008....no doubt with premium cost and 105th year anniversary emblems.

You want a bike to ride or to to stand beside?

Clarify

The way I wrote my post makes it sound like I've been waiting a long time. It's not that. I agree, a person would be dumb if they were just waiting for the 2003. I've been saving all this time. I couldn't afford a new Harley or any new bike. I've been riding used bikes for 31 years. When I had the money saved to by my new Harley it worked out that I'd be getting the 2003. I guess I had my hopes set too high. Other Harley riders were telling me that the 2003 bikes would be special and different. I messed up and listened to rumors. As far as the price increases go -- SURE I know as well as the next guy that there is an increase every year. When I ordered my bike I was told that "black" is a standard color but the website shows it's an extra cost.

Exciting responses!

I go away to my Brother's wedding, only to find out that...

1. No bigger engine (little disapointed, but that's what they make the big bore and stoker kit for when my Bike turns 5!)
2. Love the color, stripe and badging on the Fatboy Gun Metal Pearl (my 2003 on order)!

So, I'm happy! Going to order a Hardshell Bags in "Gunmetal Pearl" for the fatboy and the new windscreen and I'll be set! Delivary date for bike is August 27th, at which point my trusty Super Glide get's handed over to my buddie.

Remember, this is from someone who was dreading the 100th badges. Thank goodness they look better than the 95th ann. badges (wink)...
