I like the look of the FXDWG rear fender, and would like to get that look on my FXD. What are the best ways to accomplish this?

J+P has a conversion fender, but it's > $400, without the tailight or paint.

What would have to be done to get a factory FXDWG fender to fit an FXD?

Make a trip to the local H-D dealer and chat with the parts dude. If the fender struts are the same it might just bolt on. Not sure if your seat would fit but you could easily check that by quickly swapping with an FXDWG.

Custom Chrome and others sell bobtail fender kits for FXRs for under $100. Those might fit. A softail bobtail fender would be too wide.
