I have a rattle that seems to be coming from between the forks, as if there is a dime hanging from a string that contacts the metal fork area when you cross a wide crack in the road or bump. My HD service guy test road my bike today and said it is my primary chain making some contact, which is normal, but I swear it sounds like the rattle is coming from forward of the engine. Does anyone have any experience with this kinda rattle and where I might start to look? It is a 2002 Fatboy with 700 miles.
Thanks for your help.

It does sound like it might be coming from around that area. Another guy told me to check and see if a small piece o metal or so had broken off in the headlight or if the headlight might be loose, but it wasnt........took it apart and it was good. Is the steering head bearing something I can get to or does the HD dealership need to get to it?........Are you a HD wrench?
Thanks for the help

Fatboy had a rattle, I narrowed it down to the headlight ring, put a locknut on the screw to keep it from vibrating loose.
