  2. Ridley motorcycle knock in drive housing??

    General Harley Talk
Its not very serviceable as far as fixing stuff. New drive hub, new driven hub, new belt and that's it. Since you hear the racket in the front unit or, dive hub, that's probably your issue. OEM type 2 is about $700, nother $120 for a new belt.
  3. Cracked Header Pipe - request some advice

    Harley-Davidson Touring
It happens, but not often to oem pipes. Look on ebay, you should be able to find a used pipe. $100-150. The buy two gaskets and change it yourself.
  4. Sportster fuel pump ?

    Harley-Davidson Sportster
You can build your own fuel system easy enough. The questions are, where do you put it all and how do you keep the pump cool. You'd need a pump and fuel pressure regulator to match the oem pressures. And then you'd need to plumb in a return line for the regulator to vent excess fuel back to...
  5. Need input on 103 cooling problems

    Harley-Davidson Touring
Prolly had an air lock. It should be checked for a combustion leak into the cooling system. And past that, the new pump kit should be installed to eliminate the thermostat.

The alignment tool also acts as a service key, and by using as such, pretty much eliminates the need to realign the gates. And you you can align everything with just a screw driver. What the service key really does is replace the lock stem do you can function the switch without reinstalling...

  9. Baker Compensator Junk Beware

    Transmission and Primary
Ya, but it does indicate that the 1st design had some unresolved issues. So there should be a liberal warranty program, or perhaps a trade in allowance.
  10. Baker Compensator Junk Beware

    Transmission and Primary
With all of this said, Baker has released a redesigned unit to replace this first design. Lots more attention to keeping lube in the assembly, and a thicker cam wear surface.
  11. Baker Compensator Junk Beware

    Transmission and Primary
That's pretty even all around. Have you called Baker yet? They were replacing the early units without much difficulty, but I hear its gotten harder of late.
  12. Baker Compensator Junk Beware

    Transmission and Primary
Show me the whole load flange from photo one, and the other side of the splines in photo two. If its wearing unevenly, more on one side than the other, you need to put a dial indicator on the sprocket shaft. I think you're going to find its out by .009 or more. Slipped wheel sets are the...
  13. Ticking Noise

    Twin-Cam Engine
Hard to say from a video. But its more than rocker shaft slap. IIWY, I would pull the rocker boxes and have a look. And I would open the cam chest to double check my work in there. Then just for reference: If the base circle on the cam is not more than .010 smaller/larger than the oem...

  16. How much do illegal aliens cost the US?

    Off Topic Discussion
Undocumented immigration cost this country untold billions. If all of the jobs being worked by illegals were suddenly vacant, we could empty the unemployment rolls in this country. all of these low skill workers would begin paying taxes and loose the multitude of free support programs they...
  17. The term difference between riders and bikers.

That just means you don't ride. Lots of people ride thousands of miles a year. But some of them can't make a u-turn on a two lane road, or take off in a straight line. So they don't make the cut as Riders. Bikers is a lifestyle. Lots dress the part, but few walk the walk. Riders are...
