Bain of my existence

So I rode to town 15 miles and I counted 7 filled pot holes. I say filled because new asphalt was in a nice neat square, but they didn't fill the hole. Traffic squishes it into a hole again. A paved hole. Is there a state school that trains fukups to fill potholes?

Here in NC all roads are state maintained. The towns just mow grass and weed eat. It must be hell on training day at the local state office. "this is a shovel, you can tell by the handle and metal tip."

Seems to me that there should be a better application.

Just 7 in 15 miles? That's a great road.

Ours just shovel the shyt into the hole. Seems like every 3 feet.

I imagine folks will be getting pulled over around here for a sobriety test for WWD (weaving while driving). Plenty of potholes to avoid and many more showing up every day. Most roads are still posted till the roads settle down a bit..

Cool

In NJ potholes are everywhere and so far there's not a lot being done about it. Next year I'll be retiring to Florida where it doesn't snow and they don't apply salt because things don't freeze. That equates to a lot fewer potholes!

It doesn't snow here either, but when the roads are built by the lowest bidder, they don't last long.

Evidently the state doesn't include specs when bidding.

Huh, I guess I'm luck, only 1 pothole on my street. But it's 2 feet wide 4 inches deep and a mile long. Instead of fix it the town lowered the speed limit from 35 to 25.

Around here the roads are third-world. No exaggeration.

+1 on that. I'm constantly amused when coming on a "caution bumps ahead" sign while riding in other states. What they call "bumps" or "rough road" we call a road improvement around here.

Hey - we're having a Cinco de Saturday event at the N'ville AML post on the 4th. We'll get something on FB. Russ S. will also have info. I know some of our riders are planning to be there. FYI.

You guys should move to Texas, their alleys are better than some states' highways.

And Cap, it's 'bane' not 'bain'.

While that's 99% true, the town where I went to pick up my 107 had craters in the road that would swallow a VW bug.

Can't remember the name. It was some where between Dallas and Longview.

Believe it? Sure. You haven't lied to me since the last time.

Seriously, I don't understand why y'all leave those little 'helpers' turned on. I'm constantly having to have my brother translate his texts.
