Habanero Kid wants to know Dino or Syn?
Hey California !!!!

I hope you folks near the fires don't over stay your welcome and get out safe if need be. It sucks to lose your posessions, but they can be replaced. I saw yesterday's USA Today. There were satellite pictures on the front page. http://www.usatoday.com

Those of you already out, I hope we hear from you soon.
Keeping my fingers crossed on the other coast.

SDDAVE wants to know Dino or Syn?
Its bad allright. Two weeks ago we did a ride up through Julian and Mt. Laguna. I live at the west end of the fires, just north of the Scripps Ranch neighborhood where 300 homes were lost. I think 1171 home total lost so far. The ash around my house looks like snow drifts.

At noon yesterday it looked like dusk. Had to work 16 hours on Sunday my day off. Some looting was reported in the evacuated neighborhoods. One arrest was made. Caught the guy coming out of a house carrying a bed sheet full of property.

Firefighters from all over coming in. A friend of mine at work had San Francisco F.D. puting out the fire on his property. Fifteen officer's that I know of have lost their homes. One motor officer lost everything except his uniform and police bike, although his son managed to save his barnd new Harley.

This thing is still burning out of control. There are two fires that are expected to merge. The forcast might help though. Cooler this weekend.

I just heard 1600 homes, with maybe the worst area to get hit just beginning, by Lake Arrowhead, I think. A massive evacuation underway. A fire captain said it may be the worst in history.

medicinewoman wants to know Dino or Syn?
I've been through a fire where myself my husband and son along with friends were evacuated from Jamul in San Diego County back in the 1970's. We could only take what we could put into the car with children and dogs and ride the motorcycle out. The fire's today don't even touch upon the fire back in the 70's. In fact the only thing that protected the house where I lived on a ranch called the Lazy M Ranch was the olive trees that surrounded my house, but the two story house below us was burnt to the ground.

Please pray for all our firefighter's they are truly toughing this out. These men are fighting fires for 3 day's at a time with no sleep. I have a renewed respect for these brave men.

Living in Montana I can feel about the fires. I agree with Hab, every thing but human life can be replaced. Support the fire fighters!!!
