The Bridge from Astoria, OR to Washington at the mouth of the Columbia river... Don't look down, it looks as if there is nothing supporting you and the river is WAAY down there......

There is a bridge on I-95 N that has forever construction. Three lanes down to one. There are some barriers, but not enough as there are gaps where the river seems to be 1,000 ft below.

Just ride over them . Don't have a death grip on the bars relax and ride like you know how to do. Keep the bike pointed where you want to go and avoid sudden correction. You will get over it.
Older post but the way you deal with never changes.

Riding over metal grates

Try de-weighting the front end a bit by shifting your weight to the rear. Much like you would a dirt bike.

This will allow the front end to float easier and it may move a bit more but just let it float and everything will be fine.

Grip the bike with your legs and relax your grip on the bars.

Grates are easy. Just don't fight the scooter, let is wonder a little.

Dog tooth expansion joints are something different they can grab the front tire and spill you.

My RK weighs 900+lbs and the trike I have no clue, but pushing it backwards I'd say it is right heavy. I don't think sitting back will help much.

Yeah, wasn’t sure what you were riding. I almost added the weight caveat in my response.

Analogy: all us here are at a friendly biker bar. A stranger walks in and hears us talking about riding over metal grating. He walks up and proceeds to give his opinion on the proper technique.
What would you make of that? You don't know him. You don't know what he rides. You don't know how long he has been riding. Maybe it has been all straight line slabbing in Kansas. Maybe he is... eh.. you get the idea.

Or maybe just friendly and not cognizant of our rules.
Hey, he shoots a Heckler & Koch, has good taste in weapons. Don't chase him away just yet.
