Best battery?

My charger/tender says my battery has an open cell or something, I don't think its been changed since new. My bike is an 05' 103ci screamin eagle electra glide classic. What battery for the money is the best bet does everyone think?

Just get the Harley battery. You will pay almost as much for junk that won't last. Make sure you put on a battery tender. I just replaced my battery last season in my 02 for the first time and I keep it on a battery tender all the time when not ridding. They say a tender will double the life of a battery.

Scorpion Gel Cell is what I've been using and

telling others to use. First as a gel cell you can order one that can be mailed to you. Second after four years I have not had a problem with mine nor have my friends.

I recommend you buy the largest amp hour rating that will fit you bike. It is just nice to have a little extra reserve when you need it.

I have always used the Harley battery. Reference gell batteries, you may want to rethink that one. Gell batteries are very good until it runs down then your charging system will have work overtime to try to recharge it, thus the possibility of burniong up the stator. It takes a charging system much more work to recharge a gell battery over the conventional ones.

At work, I sell A/C Delco batteries for my customers cars, sa they work great and or OE in most then just GM cars.
They are low gas and sealed types.

But, in my bike, It would be a Harley battery there.

My Softail has a HD battery, my Valkyrie has a Yuasa. Comparing the two, the Yuasa is by far a much better battery.

The Softail will be receiving a new Yuasa soon!

That link indicates that the battery for a 07 FLHX is 1570cc and that is not right. The 07's were the start of the 96/1584cc motors. Does that matter?

I had an Interstate in my '99 RKC and it worked fine, then one day I was leaving work, went to start it and I heard a pop in the battery, done no warning. The battery was 2 years old.
On the other hand my softail I just changed it's battery in Dec, original from '03. Sometimes it had a tender when I remembered it.

tunnelrat wants to know Dino or Syn?
The few times I have had to replace batteries in my various Harleys I always use the H-D battery. Never used a tender but mine get ridden daily, year-round.
