buffaloguy is reading this now saying WTF is this?
This makes me remember my pal putting 16 gal of clear lacquer on his 1960 corvette he even flaked the engine bay, not a car you could drive every day.

Love your enemies, it will make them crazy.

LOL yes it takes a lot of clear to bury big flake. Monster flake is the biggest. This is one step down from. .025 moster size mine is. 015 size but still a whore of a job. What sucked was back in the day all they had was lacquer. All those old crazy flake jobs last about five years then they crack and craze. All that work for not much time. The modern urethane will last many years without issue but not easy nor cheap.

Damn I literally wet sanded till my fingers were bleeding... I'll tape them up and hit this again in the morning. I can see now the location of the flames is gonna be important on the back gotta put enough to break it up back there but not overpower the front.

Nice work. Looking at it the video you gotta have some kinda mural or rat rink or something painted on the inside of the undertail. When open that solid black looks so blah va the rest of the bike haha

The underside of the tail is black rubberized textured 3m undercoating. That part is what it is there are two small wire harness for taillights and the license plate frame has plate light turn and brake led's so one goes there also. I kinda want to keep that as it adds additional sound and vibration deadening as well plus protects all the tube framework from dirt getting in the nooks and crannies. I'm building a daily rider not a trailer queen lol. I don't want to get too crazy and make the bike unridable

Anything under that tail will be sandblasted. I live on long Island so they salt and sand everything up here then there is also some good beach runs but again sand is all over the place...

Well the paint went really well looks pretty awesome. Has been sanded flat and re cleared with three more coats. Got the new stronger lift pistons in also, they work great.

They quit using sand on the roads here. Sand was plugging the storm drains. Now they use 1/4" minus on the roads. Just the right size for snow tires to pick up and sling at windshields.

Thanks, it took four gas pistons to make that work. The front two control the tail when you first lift it till halfway and the rear two from half way up and to the top. Nice and smooth. Even with the speakers and gear in the bags it still works fine. Took some figuring out for length and pressures but we nailed it.

Hahahaa.... Hey I can't hold it against him not everybody loves stuff that's really different. I have never seen anything like it built before either. But I wanted something original and to me I love it. Some may hate it I respect that. It's all good. Lol I've seen some hideous customs as well its all a taste thing. I appreciate that people take the time to check out the thread with good or bad comments it doesn't matter. It beats discussions about tires anyway and hopefully a good read at least for all.
