Robcop1127 wants to know Dino or Syn?
Hey thanks WEINERDOGBONE!!! Congrats also on your retirement my Fellow Brother in Blue!!! I do agree that the Glock Model 27 is somewhat of a punisher to shoot but with a nice Hogue Grip it's perfect for personal carry. I too still have both of my Glock Duty weapons from the job and they've never failed me with all of the thousands of rounds gone through them!!! In fact one of them has tens of thousands of rounds put through it and although it was retired with a newer model it still hasn't failed to this day. Stay safe out here in the civilian lifestyle and let's get out and put some miles on these scooters of ours this season!!!

I'm curious too. Also Retired LEO. We went Glock after a lot of testing. Dropped, thrown in the street, water, rolled over them with vehicles, frozen, in the mud... that kind of real world testing and never had an issue.

I carry the 27 almost daily and it's a nice shooting weapon. And for me, I'm very accurate with it.

I'm curious, too.
At this point there have been a ton of them out for for a long time.

Glock got into LE one way . They sold below cost to build a market. Bean counters tell Most LEO what they will carry.
Glock is a good weapon but not near the hype they built by marketing. Real world Glock has a very small part of the over all market

That may well be true, Smitty. I haven't done a study or anything, but many of my friends prefer a pistol that looks fancy like a Kimber. A couple more are just crazy for the Kahr pistols. I bet none of them shoot more that 100 rounds a year, they just think they have the best pistol because they paid a high price or it looks pretty.

The point I'm making is that the average guy I know wouldn't buy a Glock because they are homely. They haven't made a life choice to carry every time they leave the house, they more want something impressive in case their friends ask to see it. Most of them couldn't hit the side of a barn under stress, and 50% of the time, I could ask to see it and they would have forgotten it at home.

Now that's an idea to pass along to Glock - put a little "bling" on their pistolas. Call it the "Urban Legend."

I'm talking tiny LEDs embedded along the slide and into the sights... the lights could change colors and flash in patterns... an app could sync up with their iphone/ipod tunes so the lights could flash with the rhythm... gold inlay on the trigger... "BMF" etched into the grips.. a holo sight as an accessory that doubled as a screen where they could watch music videos, porn, etc., -- and advertising claiming to have maximized the ergonomics for a contemporary urban "Side-Style" shooting grip. Just sayin'.

Is it so wrong that I want to get a Kimber Pro-Carry2 in .45?

Not disagreeing, but this was not the case with ours. Testing and the choice of multi-size frames (22/23/27) chose the platform.

A .22 will kill a man. If this is a discussion about lethality, then the .380 works just fine.

It's a pistol round. If you're trying to apply the 7 fundamentals of marksmanship with a pistol - you're either on a static range or already dead.

Most people who diss Glock have never used one.

There is not a damn thing wrong with that. I want one too. I just don't want to carry it everyday.

That is such a brilliant idea, you better patent it very quickly. Every millennial would just have to have one.

Started out with myths about what a 380 won't do and proved them wrong. but it drifted . That is ok. if threads did not wander off the forum would die.
I have fired glock often not impressed . Also do the research they have had their issue. Few owners it took two years to find out they had recall issues glock hides it well.

I know this is a older thread, just came across it. Smitty is right on, I got a Sig .380 for my wife. I loaded it with this, https://www.underwoodammo.com/produc...t=187857081139.
There's a you tube video of this ammo blowing through a 16" gel block, and almost exiting the board behind it. Impressive for a small round IMO.

Glocks work. Plain and simple truth. They work.

Every plastic-frame auto-pistol by more than a dozen manufacturers is basically a remolded Glock.

My dislike is 99% personal. I don't like the grip , I don't like the balance , and I don't like the trigger mechanism/feel/pull.

But then I've been shooting a 1911 for over 40yrs. Over 70yrs as America's combat pistol , it's legendary reputation for reliability has been proven thru several wars and conditions police or civilians will likely never see.

As for accurate? I've yet to see a Glock or one of it's clones at a bullseye or service pistol match.
