Stock thumb screw setup as a deadman's throttle.

Throttle rocker with about 2/3rds trimmed back. The paddle is so big it would get lightly stuck in the sleve of my jacket under certain conditions.

I know a guy that was a insurance adjuster for motorcycles and he commented about all the accidents he has seen from people using the stock throttle lock. The book says to not overtighten it.

I've got the TR too. No complaints.

But I did see something somewhere though that was a metal lever of sorts that was supposed to fit OVER the little thumbwheel thingy. Looked like it might be better for a quick engage/disengage.

Anybody tried one of those?

I've used the little lever you are talking about. It's called a Clever Lever I got mine at J & P. They are actually plastic and snap over the stock throttle lock. It has a thumb lever that works really well. Only down side is they occasionally fall off. Next one I get I'll super glue. Just a flick with your thumb ingages or disengages them.

I use the "throttle mate", an aluminum lever that attaches with a set screw. www.throttlemate.com they sell for around $13

Kuryakyn grips with the throttle boss installed. Works pretty well on long rides and doesn't get in the way.
