What were you asking then?

You asked "What do y'all think...?" and somebody told you what he thought. Did I miss something?

I was asking if that's a good price for THAT PARTICULAR BIKE not what other bike should I get because it's basically the same thing without all the extras and a SPECIAL label.

Well were you planning on putting any accessories after the purchase? Think about how you will mostly use the bike. Whether a bike is worth 29k+ taxes and dealer prep is up to you. If I was still working I would wait until August when the 20's roll in. They will knock a few thousand off and if that model is gone I am sure another dealer will have one.

What you asked was specifically for opinions (i.e. "think").

Comparing prices on the same bike with different dealers has nothing to do with thinking.

Maybe what you meant to ask was "can anybody beat this price?" but that wasn't what you asked, in fact.

Then that's what you should have asked.

Be aware that the Street Glide Special and the Road Glide Special are the two most over priced scooters that Harley sells short of CVO's. And they loose value faster than any of the other baggers.

Used 18 SGS is 20-21K with less than 5000 miles. The real deals are had buying them as low mileage private sales.

Here's an 18 with less than 2K on the clock asking 21,500. Id bet the difference that 20.5K cash in hand would buy it.

OK. NO it is not. About $4K more than it should be.

Financed through Harley. He probably can't take too much less.

Also, in many states there's no sales tax on private party sales...and certainly now BS dealership fee's.

I agree. Buy one from last year if you need something that new. Having learned my lesson, I'll probably never buy another big motorcycle until the last summer or fall, when the new models come out. Will only get to ride it a couple of times before the snow, but the money saved will go a long way toward other things.

Also paying that much for my car would have killed me, I struggled to go $22k when I had no time to look because some drunk decided to crush my other car. Man what a rip off on the value of my old car!
