georgedouglas is reading this now saying WTF is this?
I have always used oil filters on my twin cams with good anti-drain back valves so when unscrewing the filter there is less than an ounce of oil that drips out and a paper towel tucked under the filter usually catches it all.

I like many here have used the screw driver and hammer trick on filters through the years, but I am not sure it is a good idea for a Harley engine. How many hits before it takes a toll on the oil nipple? May be worrying too much on that but hammer taps in places that the engineer/designer never designed for could eventually cause a problem.
