Multigrade versus Straight grade oil

I have been asked this question over the last 37 years I have been in the oil business more than any other question, especially with air cooled engines and from the aviation community. Shell explains it in very simple terms.

Ditto what 13mm said. I have been running dino 50 wt in my Heritage, but this King will have synthetic. Anything that coats the motor faster at startup is good as my bike might sit for 2 weeks before I can get a ride.

There is no such thing as old style oil, just like the Harley engine is not the same as it was in the old days. I think the HP has doubled and close to tripled over the years. I know you are just saying.
