CHIPMAKER wants to know Dino or Syn?
Couldnt find the Mobil Dex III, all they had was Mobil "new formula,"
which was supposed to include dexron applications. What do you think?

That's the new Multi-Vehicle ATF and it will work fine for our bikes.
Probably better.

It's amazing how much you look like Glen Campbell.

I guess it's the wind that does that to you or did you git into one of those Kansas highlines?

Can you also play a twelve string Ovation like a bandit?

I wonder if the youngins even know what I'm talking about.

For the application you are talking about using it in the shelf life is not important as long as it has been sealed air tight so moisture and oxygen can't deteroiate it. Shelf life is more important when using an older, out of spec product for a newer vehicle application that the API specs of that product no longer meet.

dynarule wants to know where he is and how he got here
Been thinking of using ATF in my primary but the only concern i have is the stator, does the ATF have abything in it that could cause the plastics or the epoxy to degrade over time? Me and my son used to race go karts and we used ATF to soften the tires to make them stick better. How long has anyone been using this in ther primary and has ther been any problems?

I have only been using Dextron III ATF for two years - no problems to date.

Shouldn't be anything to hurt as an automatic tranny is full of seals, servos, epoxies, wire harnesses, and etc. and it doesn't cause any problems in that application. Some guys on this site have been using it for many years now with no downside. There has been issues with stators over the years using the harley oil so I wouldn't worry about it.

One more question. The 06 Dyna's have had a problem with the inner primary bearing and mine has been replaced at 12k and now have 21k with no problems yet, Will ATF be ok for this questionable roller bearing?

What could do worse than what you have already used? You don't have a good track record so far. Most likely it isn't oil related to begin with just thought I would kid you a little. Not real sure, as I don't have the time right now to check my overhaul manual, but the primary bearing most likely is lubed from engine oil so it shouldn't matter what you use on the other side of that bearing.

The bearing i am talking about is the support bearing behind the clutch basket, the trans shaft. it is lubed by the primary oil.
