Cool

A friend of mine has been running them for about 15yrs now. He said he took it as quite an honor when #1 maniac John Force came up to him after a run and told him very loudly he was F-N NUTZ!

Racepres is reading this now saying WTF is this?
Don't know if you realize it...they were All Harley Drag Bikes...long before the NHRA decided to Pay them for show.
The world has come about full circle...from Harleys only... to About everything...including Cars and Imports!!! which was the original reason there became Harley Drags!!!!

Time for New Blood me Thinks!!!!

The AMRA banner on the Facebook page was a pretty good clue.

Yeah , the AHDRA. But they really didn't pay out much. Riders/owners could hardly recoup they outlay. Participation dwindled. I used to run in the old IDBA 25yrs ago.

The reason the AHDRA went away was purely Mis-management...
BTW Don't matter what ya Pay...
AMRA had the biggest pay to win ever at summer Bowling Green
Didn't help participation one lick...
Rather play with Imports and Cars... it Seems.

It's what the fans want to play with. I've got a nephew plays with his turbo v-dubya.

Can't have big purses without paying fans in the stands.

Not much sense spending $5000 or more to win $2500.

And if ya break or blow a motor it could be 10-15k.

Your Not Listening!!!
we offered a 5k purse... Not many want to Race I guess!!!!
and....I do not know any racers that could even pretend to work off of Purse Money...I didn't!!

BTW No Purse Money that AHDRA Paid was out of anyones Pocket....Except Sponsors..
or the occasional class that raced for each others money..

Cool

I worked for a race bike shop years ago. True , we didn't make money racing. We made money by going back home with 4-5 motors and 1 or 2 bikes in the trailer for rebuild. Gotta be independently rich , or have a product/service other racers are willing to pay for. Like the owner often said , we win when we get beat by a competitor using one of our motors/bikes.

It's a shame drag racing doesn't bring in more fans. I try support as many times a year as I'm able.

I've seen the TF Harleys running in NHRA events , but they really don't put on a good show. I understand how mean these beasts are. But they rarely have a good side by side , full track , low 6sec run. Most of the time , the far more competitive Pro-Stock bikes run faster than some of the TF Harleys.

They're just much , or as little Harley as a TF bike.

Neither has very many Genuine HD Parts.

Back when I raced IDBA , Pro Stock meant a factory production crankcase.

Yes , I've been to Cecil County a few times. Numidia , Maple Grove years ago.

I just said that the NHRA televised races don't have very competitive races when televised..
