Rear Brake Light Switch Issues
Hey Guys- Been a long winter with lots of nasty mag-chloride on the roads, but given me a chance to wrench on the 2000 Softail Heritage. Custom painted tins installed, rebuilt wire wheels, new exhaust installed, cam tensioner inspection, all fluid change, rebuilt both brake calipers. The rear caliper was dragging on one side and when I popped out the pistons, I found aluminum milling debris inside one of the passages! Presumably from manufacture. Blead the system, now the brake switch works only with a very hard press on the peddle. Front works like a charm. Could I have a bubble of air in the switch causing it to work only when pushed very hard? I know these switches are troublesome, but it was working fine before.
